Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes the information handled when someone visits Suffolk County Released Inmates, uses a search box, or sends a message. It explains what may be collected directly or automatically, why that information is used, and which service providers may receive it. The notice also covers cookies, outside links, security limits, younger users, and privacy choices. By continuing to use the site, a visitor accepts the practices described here. Official WTRJ, City of Suffolk, Virginia corrections, court, and federal sites follow their own privacy rules.

Information You Submit

Terms Entered in Search

A name, place, or other term entered in a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Suffolk County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its separate privacy policy, so review that policy before submitting identifying details.

Emails and Contact Messages

When a visitor sends an email or uses a contact form, the message and supplied contact details are retained as needed to read and answer the request. We do not share those messages outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law. Messages sent here do not reach Western Tidewater Regional Jail, the Suffolk Sheriff, a court, VADOC, or another public office.

Information Collected Automatically

Basic technical and usage details may be recorded when a page loads. This data helps the site operate, shows how visitors reach Suffolk release-resource pages, and reveals errors that need attention. The information may include:
